My recording won't start

Make sure you've granted microphone permission in your browser. Check the address bar for a blocked microphone icon and click to allow access.

On mobile, ensure RecordX has microphone access in your device settings.

What file formats can I upload?

RecordX supports most common audio and video formats: MP3, M4A, WAV, OGG, WebM, MP4, and more.

Large files are supported via chunked upload. Very long recordings (2+ hours) may take longer to process.

How long does processing take?

Most recordings are processed within 2-5 minutes. Longer files may take up to 10 minutes.

If processing seems stuck, try refreshing the page. If it still doesn't work, contact support.

Credits & Billing

How do credits work?

Credits are measured in minutes. Each minute of audio you process uses one credit.

Free tier users receive 60 minutes per month. You can purchase additional credits on the pricing page.

I ran out of credits

When your credits run out, you won't be able to process new recordings until you have more.

Visit the pricing page to purchase additional minutes or upgrade to a subscription plan.

Do unused credits roll over?

Free tier: Your 60 minutes reset each month. Unused minutes don't carry over.

Purchased credits: Any minutes you buy are added to your balance and never expire.

Transcription & Results

The transcript has errors

Accuracy depends on audio quality, background noise, and how clearly speakers enunciate.

For best results: use a good microphone, minimize background noise, and speak clearly. Selecting the correct language also helps.

How do I share my transcript?

Open any completed transcript and click the Share button. You can generate a public link, send by email, or export as PDF or Word.

Shared links can include or exclude sensitive information based on your privacy preferences.

Can I download my recordings?

You can download transcripts as PDF or Word documents. The original audio is deleted after processing to protect your privacy.

If you need to keep the audio, make sure to save it locally before uploading.

Account & Privacy

Is my data secure?

Yes. All data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Audio files are deleted after processing.

How do I delete my account?

Go to Settings → Account → Danger Zone and click Delete Account. You'll be asked to confirm by typing "DELETE".

If you can't access your account, email admin@recordx.io with subject "Account Deletion Request".
