Google Meet AI notes and transcription

How it works
Three steps, all from Chrome.
1. Add the RecordX extension
Install from the Chrome Web Store and sign in with your RecordX account. Once.
2. Capture the Meet
Join the Meet as you normally would. Click record in the extension. The recording captures tab audio, so both sides come through.
3. Get the notes
After the call, RecordX transcribes and summarizes automatically. Read the transcript, share the summary, or copy action items into your tracker.
Why RecordX for Google Meet
No participant slot used
External guests will not see a note-taking bot alongside them. For sales, hiring, and consulting calls, that is often the difference between recording and not recording.
Works on any Meet
Personal Gmail, Workspace account, or a Meet link a client sent you. If you can hear the call, RecordX can transcribe it.
Actionable output
The AI summary flags decisions, open questions, and next steps. Action items surface as a checklist, not a wall of text.
What a Meet call turns into
- Full transcript - searchable, with speakers labeled.
- AI summary - decisions, open questions, and next steps, in a paragraph.
- Action items - a checklist with owners where the AI can infer them.
Good to know
Privacy defaults
Encrypted in transit and at rest. Source audio is deleted after processing. Transcripts are retained for one year and can be deleted from your account any time. No calendar access, no bot account in your workspace, no side channel outside the call you are actually on. More on the privacy policy and security page.
20 languages
Mixed calls and mid-sentence code-switching work. Useful when the room speaks more than one language. RecordX covers English, Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, Italian, Russian, Ukrainian, Arabic, Hebrew, Turkish, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Hindi, Indonesian, Vietnamese, Thai, Romanian, and Czech.
