Daily standup template

Fifteen-minute check-in, per person: what I did yesterday, what I am doing today, what is in my way. This template is the short version teams actually finish on time.

When to use it

Every working day for delivery teams - engineering, design, ops, support. It works over Zoom, Google Meet, or in a room. If your standup is running long, this shape is what shortens it: three lines per person, blockers get an owner, everything else is offline.

FAQ

How long should a daily standup take?

Fifteen minutes for the whole team. If a topic needs longer, take it offline with the two or three people who care.

Do we still need standup notes if we record it?

Yes. Notes are what people who missed the call actually read. A transcript is a backup. RecordX writes both.

Can RecordX label who said what?

Yes. Speaker labels attach to each person after the first standup so yesterday, today, and blockers land under the right name.

Is the template free?

Yes. Copy the block above into any doc, wiki, or Slack canvas.
