How it works
- Upload the file. Sign up at recordx.io, open the web app, and drag your file into the upload area.
- Wait for the transcript. Short files come back in seconds; longer files a few minutes. Speaker separation and the AI summary run automatically.
- Download or ask the AI. Read, edit, and export the transcript, copy the summary and action items, or ask questions of the transcript in the built-in editor.
Formats supported
iPhone Voice Memos (.m4a), Google Recorder (.m4a), Samsung Voice Recorder (.m4a or .amr), and any other phone-recorder app that saves M4A, MP3, WAV, or AMR. Short 30-second thoughts and 90-minute interviews both work.

FAQ
How do I get an iPhone Voice Memo out of the app?
Tap the memo, tap the share icon, choose Save to Files (or Mail it to yourself, or AirDrop it to your Mac). Then upload the .m4a to RecordX.
How short can a voice memo be?
There is no minimum. A 10-second memo transcribes just as well as a 60-minute one.
What about background noise from being outdoors?
The engine handles wind, café noise, and traffic reasonably well. If a specific word is unclear, the transcript flags low-confidence spots so you know where to double-check.
Do you keep the original audio after transcription?
Source audio is deleted after processing. The transcript stays for a year by default and you can delete it from your account any time.
