Is the Twilio integration live in RecordX today?

No. Twilio is on the roadmap. Today, RecordX provisions its own phone numbers under the hood - no Twilio account needed. See the telephony carriers page for the built-in path that is live now. Email support@recordx.io and we'll notify you when Twilio bring-your-own-number ships.

Can I use my existing Twilio number with RecordX?

Not yet. When the integration ships, the plan is to let you point a Twilio Programmable Voice number at RecordX via a TwiML webhook so incoming and outbound calls stream into the same transcription pipeline as your other RecordX calls - no new DID, no number port.

How is Twilio bring-your-own-number different from the built-in RecordX number?

The built-in RecordX number (live today) is one bill, no carrier account, provisions in seconds. Twilio BYO (planned) is for teams already on Twilio Programmable Voice who need to keep their existing number or pair recording with Twilio IVR / routing / Studio flows. If you have no reason to be on Twilio, the built-in path is simpler.

Will Twilio charge me extra?

Yes. Twilio bills per-minute call rates plus recording storage on your Twilio account, separately from RecordX. RecordX-side, minutes will still count against your monthly RecordX quota the same way Zoom, Meet, and Teams minutes do.

What about Twilio Flex, SendGrid, or Segment?

Only Twilio Programmable Voice is in scope. Twilio Flex (contact center), SendGrid (email), and Segment (CDP) are not on the RecordX roadmap - they solve different problems from meeting and call transcription.

How it works

Twilio bring-your-own-number is planned - it is not live today. RecordX already provisions phone numbers directly under the hood, so a working phone-transcription setup does not require a Twilio account (see telephony carriers, Status: live). When Twilio is live, teams already on Twilio Programmable Voice will be able to route incoming calls to RecordX for transcription and summary using their existing Twilio number, without provisioning a second DID.

Planned scope

Bring-your-own-Twilio-number for RecordX call recording. The plan is to accept incoming and outbound calls on your existing Twilio Programmable Voice DID and stream the audio through Twilio's Voice Recording plus Media Streams into RecordX's transcription pipeline, producing the same transcript, summary, and action items you get from a built-in RecordX number.

Planned API

Twilio Account SID + Auth Token, pasted into RecordX Settings. No RecordX-to-Twilio OAuth flow is planned - Twilio does not offer OAuth for Programmable Voice, so paste-in credentials are the expected shape.
A TwiML webhook URL on the RecordX side that your Twilio number's Voice configuration points at.
Optional Twilio subaccount so RecordX's traffic is isolated on your Twilio bill.
Nothing today - no live RecordX Twilio app, no credentials stored, no webhooks registered.

Pricing and limits (planned)

Twilio charges per-minute call rates plus recording storage on your Twilio account - that stays on your Twilio bill.
RecordX-side, minutes count against the same monthly quota as Zoom, Meet, Teams, and phone calls - starting at 60 free minutes per month.
Business tier at launch. Details will follow when the integration ships.

Common concerns

If you are not already on Twilio, the built-in RecordX phone number (Status: live) is simpler - one bill, no TwiML to configure, provisions in seconds.
Twilio makes sense when you already have a Twilio number you cannot move, or you need Twilio's routing, IVR, or Studio flows alongside the recording.
Twilio pricing varies by country and destination - large call volume on Twilio may cost more than a built-in number, or less. Model it against your usage before switching.
