How it works

Every export - PDF, Word (.docx), HTML, plain text - carries a Redact PII toggle in the export menu. Turn it on and the file passes through a hosted redaction guardrail before it leaves the app: the detector reads the document, tags matching spans, and replaces them with masked placeholders. The source transcript in your own account is untouched.

Share links from the mobile share sheet carry the same toggle, defaulted to on. What lands with the recipient is a scrubbed version of the transcript and summary; the internal record stays complete.

What gets redacted

Personal names - candidates, patients, customers, third parties.
Contact details - email addresses, phone numbers, physical addresses.
Government IDs - national ID and passport numbers.
Financial identifiers - credit-card numbers and account numbers when the transcript picks them up.
Cross-language - the detector runs across every language RecordX transcribes, so a Hebrew call with English inside gets both sides scrubbed.

Is it on by default?

Yes. The share-link toggle defaults to on so that anything you send outside the app is scrubbed unless you deliberately opt out. Exports let you pick per download - some downloads (a full internal record) want the raw text; others (a summary going to a client) want it redacted.

Can I still see the original inside my account?

Yes. Redaction is applied to the export or share output, not to the source transcript. Your own account keeps the full text so you can search it, replay it, or export it again without redaction.
