Is the Asana integration live yet?

Not yet. Action items are extracted from every meeting inside the RecordX web app; copy them into Asana until the direct sync ships. The roadmap plan is to create Asana tasks via the Tasks API with owner, project and due date populated from the extracted action item.

Which Asana plan do I need?

Any paid Asana workspace works with the Tasks API. Free personal workspaces can also authorise apps, but custom fields and rule-based routing require Starter or Advanced.

Will the transcript be attached to the task?

The planned behaviour is a link back to the RecordX meeting page in the task description, not the full transcript pasted inline. That keeps Asana lean and lets you control who sees the recording via RecordX sharing.

How is the assignee picked?

RecordX matches the owner named in the action item ("Alex will send the SOW") against Asana workspace members by name or email. If nothing matches, the task lands in the default project unassigned.

What's the workaround today?

Open the meeting in RecordX, copy the action item block, and paste it into Asana as a task. It's a manual step but takes seconds because the owner and next-step wording are already written for you.

What it does today

The direct Asana sync is on the roadmap, not shipped. Right now, every meeting RecordX records produces a structured action-item list - owner, verb, due date if mentioned - in RecordX. You copy those items into Asana yourself. The planned integration will use the Asana Tasks API to create tasks in a project you nominate, with the assignee resolved by name or email against your workspace members.

Setup (once the sync ships)

Create your RecordX account at recordx.io/register.html.
Install the RecordX Chrome extension or the Android app for mobile capture.
Open settings in the RecordX web app and click Connect Asana.
Sign in to Asana and approve the requested scopes for your workspace.
Pick a default project - the destination when no project is inferred from the meeting.
Optionally add rules: "meetings tagged sales-call route to Sales Pipeline", etc.
Record a test meeting with a clear action item and confirm the task appears in Asana.

Permissions and scopes

The connect flow uses Asana's OAuth 2.0 authorization code grant. The planned scope set is the minimum needed to create tasks: read your workspace and user list so RecordX can resolve assignees, and write tasks in the projects you explicitly nominate. RecordX does not request domain-admin scopes and cannot see projects you haven't mapped.

Pricing and limits

RecordX doesn't charge extra for the Asana sync - it's included with any paid plan. On Asana's side, the Tasks API is available on every workspace tier including free. Asana rate-limits app traffic per personal access token / OAuth client; typical meeting volumes stay well under the ceiling. Custom fields and Rules-based automations are Starter/Advanced features - fine for you to use in Asana, but RecordX creates plain tasks and lets your Asana rules do the routing.

Common gotchas

Ambiguous owners like "someone should follow up" land in the default project unassigned.
Guests in the meeting aren't workspace members, so their action items still need a human owner in Asana.
Recurring meetings create fresh tasks each time - if you want a single rolling task, keep it in RecordX and copy over manually.
Asana projects you create after connecting only appear in the mapping picker after a settings refresh.
