Is the Telegram bot live?

Not yet. Today, download the Telegram voice note to your phone and upload it to RecordX from the mobile app or web app. The planned bot will let you forward a voice note directly and get the transcript back in the same chat.

Which file types will it accept?

Telegram voice messages (OGG / Opus), voice notes (M4A), video notes and forwarded audio files. RecordX handles OGG, M4A, MP3, MP4 natively.

How long can voice notes be?

Telegram's own limit is 1 hour per voice message and 2 GB per file. RecordX caps the per-file size to your plan; typical voice notes are minutes, not hours.

Will group chats work?

The first cut is direct-message only, so nothing leaks from a group. Group support (opt-in per chat) is a follow-up.

Is this end-to-end encrypted?

Telegram bot API messages are transport-encrypted but not end-to-end (E2E is only Telegram Secret Chats). The voice note reaches RecordX over TLS; treat it the same as any file you'd upload to RecordX directly.

What it does today

The RecordX Telegram bot isn't shipped yet. Today the flow is manual: save the Telegram voice note to your device, open the RecordX mobile app or web app, and upload the file. Transcript, summary and action items land in your RecordX library. The planned bot will let you forward a voice note straight into a chat with @RecordXBot and receive the transcript in the same chat.

Setup today

Sign up for RecordX at recordx.io/register.html.
Install the RecordX mobile app or open the web app on your phone.
In Telegram, long-press the voice note and choose Save to Files (iOS) or Save to Downloads (Android).
Upload the file to RecordX from the same phone.
Wait for the transcript (typically a fraction of the voice-note length).

Setup (once the bot ships)

Open a chat with @RecordXBot in Telegram.
Run /start and follow the link to log in with your RecordX account.
Forward or record a voice note into the bot chat.
Receive the transcript and summary as a reply in the same chat.
Optionally tag the transcript ("#sales-note") for filing.

Permissions

The Telegram bot is a standard Bot API bot - Telegram doesn't ask users for OAuth scopes. Access is per-chat: the bot only receives messages you send to it directly. Linking your Telegram account to your RecordX account is done via a login URL sent by the bot the first time you /start.

Pricing and limits

RecordX doesn't charge for Telegram usage - voice notes consume your normal monthly transcription minutes. Telegram's own limits apply: voice messages up to one hour, files up to 2 GB, standard bot rate limits (30 messages / second across all users, well above personal usage). Long files use Telegram's file-part download API automatically.

Common gotchas

Telegram Secret Chats are end-to-end encrypted and can't reach bots - the flow only works from regular chats.
Videos larger than 20 MB use Telegram's alternate download API; the bot handles this but it's slightly slower.
Voice notes above one hour in length are Telegram's own limit; use file upload for longer recordings.
Group support isn't in the first cut - forward group voice notes to yourself first.
